La Chakana es un símbolo milenario del mundo andino de los pueblos indígenas de los Andes. Posee cuatro extremos que representan las cuatro direcciones y las cuatro estaciones del año. Cada segmento entre cada una de las extremidades está formado por tres escalones que representan los tres mundos del presente. Hanan Pacha (mundo de los dioses), Kay Pacha (mundo de los hombres) y Uhu Pacha (mundo de los muertos).

The Chakana is an ancient symbol of the Andean world of the indigenous peoples of the Andes. It has four ends that represent the four directions and the four seasons of the year. Each segment between each of the extremities is made up of three steps that represent the three worlds of the present. Hanan Pacha (world of the gods), Kay Pacha (world of men) and Uhu Pacha (world of the dead).
